Yellow Ribbon Program

The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. This program allows institutions of higher learning (degree granting institutions) in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with VA to fund tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate. The institution can contribute up to 50% of those expenses and VA will match the same amount as the institution.

Eligibility, Benefit and Application information can be found at the VA web site: www.gibill.va.gov/GI_Bill_Info/CH33/Yellow_ribbon.htm

Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA)

We received word from MyCAA that they have suspended the program effective Tuesday, Feb. 16.

  • All tuition assistance or FA that had been approved through MyCAA will be honored. However, if you drop or withdraw from a course that has been approved for FA, you will not be able to receive FA to add a different course.
  • We have not been provided a timeline for the suspension of the program. At this point, the program is scheduled to undergo a thorough review before being reactivated.
  • When the program is reactivated, FA for courses that were taken during the suspension will not be available retroactively.
  • We have been informed that the suspension is not funding related. It is related to having consistency in the program parameters, website, procedures, etc.
