Educational opportunities abound while you are in the Navy. Whether you are looking for additional military training, seeking to earn an advanced degree, or simply wanting to improve your mind, the Navy has an educational match for you. And Southwestern College Professional Studies is pleased to work with the Navy to help you reach your educational goals. Our online course give you anytime – anywhere accessibility.
Navy tuition assistance covers 100% (up to $250 per semester hour) of tuition and fees during the fiscal year. Navy TA is capped at $4,500 per year and 16 semester hours. (Waiver requests cannot exceed the FY $4,500 DOD limit).
2012 NAIMES Student Spotlight Award
The NAIMES Student Spotlight Award is an opportunity for military learners to demonstrate their academic achievement to the military and civilian educational community through an exploration of how the academic experience has influenced their military career. Award winners will receive a $1,200 cash prize, plus travel expenses (up to $500) to accept the award.

Learners who are currently enrolled in a class at Professional Studies can utilize the Writing Lab in Blackboard for help with the essay for this award. Simply write your essay and then submit it to the Writing Lab for review.
