Payment Options
We Offer a Variety of Payment Options
Employer Tuition Reimbursement or Direct Bill Programs
Many employers offer employee college tuition programs as part of their benefits package. In addition to tuition, some employers will even cover the cost of fees, books, and other related expenses, either by reimbursing the employee upon completion of the course or by paying the college directly. To learn more about your employer’s continuing education benefits, contact your human resources department. If you qualify for this benefit, Southwestern College offers a payment plan that allows you to defer payment until after the course is complete or will directly bill your employer for tuition or other fees. Be sure to notify a Southwestern College representative of your “sponsor” for “sponsor billing” or reimbursement purposes

Tuition Assistance and Service Member Discounts
Service members may qualify for military Tuition Assistance benefits. Here at Southwestern College, we offer a military tuition discount plus we review all military training transcripts for the maximum credit award for prior military training. The military tuition discount extends not only to active duty members and their spouses, but also to Guards, Reservists, and civilian/contract employees of the Department of Defense.
Financial Aid
Southwestern College through its participation in the Federal Financial Aid program participates in a number of programs providing grants, unsubsidized loans and subsidized loans to adult learners seeking to complete their bachelor’s or master’s degree. Applying for financial aid requires completion of the FAFSA and coordination with the Financial Aid Office at Southwestern College. For more information or to speak with a financial aid counselor, telephone toll-free at 888.684.5335 or e-mail finaid@sckans.edu.
Prior Learning Credit Portfolio
Southwestern College understands that adult learners bring real-life experience to the classroom. The knowledge, skills and experience you have gained throughout your career (e.g., attending workshops, seminars, classes, and through self-study) may be eligible for academic credit toward your degree through a Prior Learning Credit Portfolio process. Preparation of a portfolio requires learners to articulate how their prior learning activities equate to college-level learning. The average credit award for portfolios is 15 semester hours with some portfolios generating more credit hours and some less credit hours. For more information, contact a Southwestern College representative.
