How do I enroll?

Log in to your Self Service account, click on Register, and then Online Registration. You can search by the course, session, etc. You will need to select the class, add it to your cart, and then finalize. Be sure to select a payment plan. Please click here to see the tutorial. Note: All Army learners using TA will need to register through the GoArmyEd portal.

When will my degree be completed?

Your Academic Success Coach will continually update your degree plan so you can stay on track. So, you might check your most recent degree plan first, or contact your Coach for additional information.

How do I drop a class and how much will it cost me?

In order to drop/withdraw from a class, please fill out the drop/withdraw form. You can find refund information on this form. Please click here to see the tutorial. Note: Learners enrolling via GoArmyEd.com must drop/withdraw via GoArmyEd.com.

How do I find my coach?

Your coach’s name is listed at the bottom of your schedule once you log into Self Service.

What are CLEPs and how do I find out about them?

How do I become a degree seeking student if I’m not currently one?

You should contact your Academic Success Coach (if you don’t know who that is, check the Staff tab in the Guest Learner Course). He/she will then put you in contact with an admissions counselor to get the degree seeking process started. It’s a very simple application process and you are on your way to your degree!

How do I get a certificate?

When you have completed your certificate requirements, you must submit an Application for Completion of Additional Work & Certificate. This form is located at www.southwesterncollege.org under Current Learners. Click Forms. The process can take up to a month. Be sure that your address in Self-Service is up-to-date, because this is where your certificate will be sent.

How do I become a graduate learner?

If you are currently a learner at Southwestern College Professional Studies, contact your Academic Success Coach. If you are not currently a learner at SCPS, contact our admissions department.

How do I buy my books?

You can follow the link at the end of your online registration, or go to http://bookstore.mbsdirect.net/sckans.htm. Please click here to see the tutorial.

How do I access my online classroom?

Please click here to log in to Blackboard, which is where your online classrooms will be. Please note that you will not have access to a classroom until the Thursday prior to the class start date.

Can I find syllabi for classes online?

You can find current syllabi here. Select the term and search for the course. You will also be able to access the syllabus for your class in Blackboard once your class begins. Please click here to see the tutorial.

How do I get my grades?

Log in to your Self Service account. Click on Grades and you can view your grades or print them. Please click here to see the tutorial.

What’s the difference between 2T and 4T hours?

2T hours are credit hours obtained from a two year institution; 4t hours are credit hours earned from a four year institution.

Do I have to maintain a certain GPA?

Yes, A 2.0 G.P.A. is required for satisfactory progress. If your grade(s) fall below a 2.0 there is a possibility that you will be placed on Academic Warning, Probation or Suspension.

How do I appeal a grade?

Contact your instructor first, however if there is still a need to appeal a grade, contact your Academic Success Coach for additional information.

When will my classroom be available?

Your Blackboard classroom will be available late Thursday or early Friday morning the week before your course begins (courses would then officially begin the following Monday).

How do I know what classes to take?

Your Academic Success Coach will continually update your degree plan so you always know what classes to take in coming sessions. You can also contact your Academic Success Coach if you still have questions about what to take.

How do I request a transcript?

Log in to your Self Service account. At the bottom of the page, there is a Records Request. Click on that link and then select Order a Transcript. Complete the information and submit (have credit card information ready). Please click here to see the tutorial
